cycloney911
The more you progress in the game, the bigger the save file would be. I have completed all quests in the game with decked out gear and my save file size is around 16mb.
rhisendark
well when save files reach your size my game starts to become unplayable. my old game was 17mb save file and it was beyond rescuing...
aeonthraen
are you making a new save file every 3 minutes or something? i only make a new save once every 3 or 4 hours of gameplay or when i'm about to start a quest that I know bugs. most of the other times i just use the quicksave button and autosaves when loading or zoning in and out places. if you're using the save option a lot yeah it can start to overflow your save file. only use the manual save when your hitting a big part in the game that may bug on you is my advice. If its doing it automatically thats a problem. check your settings and make sure it isn't automatically making a new save file every few minutes. if it is disable it otherwise it'l bog down your game hardcore. rhisendark
i'm saving a lot 'coz where i live there are lot's of power outages. especially hot days... and i disabled autosave and heard that quicksaves make your save file corrupted etc... Rattlesnark
I'm in the same boat. 200+ hours in the game and nearly finished with Dawnguard; My save file is past 30mb in size (and ever bloating). What the hell - to make matters worse, I'm the kind who saves his game every 30-60 minutes.

blitzen
Those really aren't big save games. People have reached over 100 MB, including me. I wouldn't even be concerned. They have to increase in size. Anytime you kill anything, start a quest, move an object from it's default position, loot a corpse, pick up an arrow, etc., this has to be recorded in the savegame. If you install a new mod with scripts, these will be added to the savegame. It has to get bigger as you play. That's normal.
