Creation Kit crash when generating precombines for interior cell

Recommended Posts

Not sure why this is happening now. Computer has 32GB of RAM, no other programs open, so can't imagine it would be a memory issue. This is for a custom interior cell that doesn't have precombines. The cell was originally Hubris Comics (which had precombines), and then was copied, stripped out, and customized, with the precombines removed, and roombounds added.

When opening the custom cell in the render window, then choosing "World Menu", then "Precombine Geometry for current cell", Creation Kit crashes. Same thing if "Precombine Geometry for loaded area" is chosen.

The Precombined folder in Data/Meshes/Precombined/(NameOfMod).esp is generating, and it's populating with between zero and four meshes each time before the crash.

Any tips or theories or how to fix? -thanks

1. [Optional] Place a new, custom static into the cell. This step is optional if you've already got a unique object in the cell.
2. In the Object Window, right-click the base object for the custom static.
3. Select "Clear Affected Cells for PreCombine Data".
4. Save your mod.
5. Ensure that the interior is loaded in the render window.
6. Click the "World" tab at the top of the window.
7. Select "PreCombine Geometry for Current Cell".
8. Wait for the Creation Kit to finish.
9. Save your mod.
10. Click the "Visibility" tab.
11. Select "Generate PreCombined Visibility for Current Cell".
12. Wait for the Creation Kit to Finish.
13. Save your mod
