Whiterun Housecarl

Hello all, I hope somebody can point me in the right direction. To make a long story short, I was unhappy with the look of Lydia (Whiterun -Breezehome Housecarl) so I tried a few mods I found on the Nexus, none of them turned out to be what I really wanted, so I downloaded the Skyrim NPC editor and went to work. Fine. Now because I was not able to get the character to change her stance no matter what I did, and because I was having navmesh issues with the Breezehome mod I was using, I removed both my mod and the house mod, created a clean save and reloaded the game. Well Lydia still remains unchanged from my mod. I even tried the console (recycleactor), hired her, had her follow me outside, dismissed, waited until whe entered the house, saved, reloaded the game. Nothing changed. So I created a new Saves folder, copied one single save from about 40 levels ago, before I became Thane of Whiterun, before any of the mods were installed, reloaded the game: same thing!!!

Does anybody know where the game saves the information to modify the existing character? I inspected the original form for Lydia in the CK, and I don't see anything wrong. Somehow the game is loading this character exactly the same way I had it modded, but I have removed the mod. Is the info being chached somewhere? I have inspected the Data folder, but I don't see where the modification information could be coming from. Sure the mods for the custom weapon and custom hair are still installed, but I also completely modified her somatic (facial) features and assigned a different default outfit (Tavern Wench), those modifications are still showing up on the character as well.

I am at a total loss here, if anybody has any idea please don't be shy, any help or suggestion would be appreciated. I am including a copy/paste of my load order strait from the .txt file

It saves the info in your save game, And I don't think it cares where the NPC is, it still saves all the facegen info for them in the file (in other words, a "clean" save probably won't work) ...

You could try selecting Lydia and typing "resurrect" (without quotes) this should force the game to "reload" Lydia from the game files (Skyrim.esm or an .esp if one is installed) and not from the save file ...

Otherwise ... FIIK

Thank you very much for your help Mr. Perraine, however I had already tried all those methods. In the end, installing yet another house mod actually did the trick.

Unfortunately I caused my own trouble by not following good practices while testing and switching mods, especially since I was working on the same cell (breezehome).. I alway made certain not to lose my stuff, but I was careless with my game saves.; that and the fact tha I am a total noob when it comes to modding.

Thanks again for taking time out to help me.

Best regards
