weather crashes

Whenever the fog starts to roll in i get a CTD, i thought it might be my weather mod so i turned that off, still happened. so then i thought maybe Streamline editing the fog values made it happen, so i loaded my vanilla .ini and turned streamline off, still happened. now if i rest for a few hours im good to go even if its foggy when i wake up, any ideas what it could be?

Could be a shader error/corrupt weather files in the transition of weather types, but this is purely a guess. Try taking backups of your mods, reinstalling oblivion(and SI if you have it.), patching up, and then try the game for a bit without your mods, if it works, it means either the weather files were corrupt or one of your mods was causing it. After trying the game without mods, add your mods to the game and see again if the CTD occurs, if it does, this means one of your mods is at fault.

 

1)If the crashes occur even after reinstall, try looking for updates on your graphic cards drivers from the manufacturers site.

 

2)If it's caused by a mod, do the basics, disable all of them and start enabling one at a time.

I started having some trouble with the weather after being in the middle of a quest, The Weather Wizard. But I didn't have CTD's...just texture and mesh nightmares. I disabled that mod so fast it'd make your head spin. I know it's because it was incompatible with natural environments.

 

perhaps I didn't have the CTD's is because I realized what that quest mod was doing and disabled it so quickly, I never got any fog.

bah reinstalling a 20gig oblivion installation is crap. for now it seems good, but if it happens again i shall try and reinstall.

 

wish i had that mod installed shadow so i could just remove it and be done with it xD
