Guest deleted42202115 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Generic NPCs like "Traveler" could have a random name generated like Logan or Bargal. With the mods I have now, I know by name if an NPC is unique and may have quests, or the generic name tells me what mod they are from. A mod with a list of about 1000 names used as over-ride for spawning NPCs would blend all NPCs from the game and mods. Players will gladly submit hundreds of name to copy and paste. If you make it put me in there (Stan:) I have the mod that removes names until you greet or the NPC is dead. Best would be no names for any NPC until you greet or access dead body inventory. Names like "dog", "mammoth", "traveler", "Merchant" all useless. If I can't see that an NPC is a merchant I can ask and the dialog will show items for sale. This would be immersive and realistic. Names could be lore friendly. Patches may not be needed for mods, I don't know. Other modders would copy the technique and the list of random names could get huge.
