Custom NPC won't go inside own home

Recommended Posts

I'm new to mod creation so would value some assistance please. I made a custom home for my new NPC by duplicating & renaming one of the Whiterun NPC's homes. I have a my NPC sandboxing outside the home which is on the outskirts of Whiterun (outside the town) in cell WhiteRunExterior01. I've set condition for my NPC to go inside his home in his sandboxing Ai package, by setting the package templete to "travel" & the place to travel as the house cell name. But when the conditions are met for the NPC to travel inside, he walks into Whiterun town & stops outside the original house that I duplicated. It's as though he's ignoring the renaming of the house cell as his own. Help appreciated.

if int and ext are navmeshed it should work, i can remember placing a xmarker inside and or outside helps a lot, if you point the packages to it

so lets say, xx need to sandbox inside, make a package and give it a time frame and connect it to the inside xmarker

xx need to sandbox outside, make a package and connect it to the outside xmarker

lil note don't use exsisting packages, duplicate 1 and rename it use the renamed 1, if you use a original package there is a change you see xx peeps inside your home, becuase all use the same stock package and are draw to the xmarker

the xmarker setup should work, i did make 1 time a house in riverwood with 2 npc's and both whent out into riverwood for xx time, and then returned to home

mm forgot, when you click on your npc in the cell, under 1 of the tabs you can set the location he is bound to, make sure its point to your house/cell location

maybe a stupid question, but did you connected the inside and outside doors ?(if so there should be 2 yellow xheading markers, make sure they are close to the doors, not to close but close
