StayFrosty05
I am curious....when does the dialog come up in which you can persuade Serena to give up her Vamping ways?....My Dovahkin has killed her father and gone through the Vamp chat with her afterwards, tried every option he had, but no option came up about her giving her vampirism up...has it just not come up yet or am I missing something I need? Dovahkiin069
"If you side with the Dawnguard you can convince Serana to cure her vampirism after you kill her father and finish the main questline. This is dependent on the conversations you have with her during the questline. A conversation option "Have you always been a Vampire?" will become available after Serana brings the scroll to Fort Dawnguard and you ask her to follow you. There are a few possible choices you can make while conversing with her about this however, if you ask her if she has ever thought about getting cured she will refer to her condition as a gift and state that she will never seek a cure for it. Should she say this you can still ask her to seek a cure after her father has been defeated but she will refuse and then refuse to speak to you about it further should you ask again. If you do wish for her to cure her Vampirism after the main questline then choose the option "Are you all right?" instead of asking her about a cure. Once you ask this she will end the conversation but you will still be able to convince her to seek a cure at Fort Dawnguard after her father is dead.If Serana chooses to become human she will no longer be able to provide the player with bloodcursed arrows nor will she be able to turn the player into a Vampire Lord." (As seen here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Serana ) The dialogues you have with Serana during the questline will influence in the relationship and if she will resolve of curing herself. Make sure you choose the right dialogues during the questline of Dawnguard in order to cure her.
StayFrosty05
Thanks Dovahkiin....much appreciated.... I think I may have already possibly blown it then....My Dragonborn hasn't exactly been the kindest soul to her, he had slowly warmed to her over time but I RP him as vehemently hating Vamps...his opinion: The only good Vamp is a dead Vamp....he hasn't been an outright a**hole to her and managed a couple of soft moments with her, but has remained primarily aloof and business like with her. I will try one more time at Fort Dawnguard and choose the the 'Are you alright?' option if it comes up for me again and see what happens...though I am quite sure he asked her that the first time...No, he definitely does not want to be a Vamp or the Blood cursed arrows...she has offered, he keeps turning it down. Thanks again Dovahkiin.... Edited August 14, 2012 by StayFrosty05
StayFrosty05
Hmmm...I do wonder, if he can't get her to cure her vampirism, what would he do (RP)....I am considering him slitting her throat...(I have a mod that gives that ability) do you know if she is still marked as essential after Dawnguard is completed? EDIT: Just checked the page you linked me....she stays essential...though it does give her BaseID.... ...may have to change that fact if she doesn't give her Vamp status up.... Edited August 14, 2012 by StayFrosty05

cycloney911
I found a way to cure Serana's vampirism even if you picked the wrong dialogue option earlier. Open the console and type "startquest dlc1seranacureselfquest". After that Serana will leave you and say that she will do it (look for a cure). After 4-5 days, she should be appearing at Fort Dawnguard as a human. I'd suggest using this only after the Dawnguard main quest line. -91.89.252.214 21:27, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Alternatively you can undo that bad choice by typing this into the console'SetPapyrusQuestVar DLC1NPCMentalModel ToldPlayerSheDidntWantCure False' before asking herIf she refuses to talk about it, run this 'SetPapyrusQuestVar DLC1NPCMentalModel CutOffCureDiscussion False' ^USEP

cycloney911
Yea, it took me 5 seconds to find that out now, while i had to redo the quest line in order to get her cured. :/

kevkiev
I know I asked her about her vampirism, and at some point got a response something like "Why would I want to give up this gift?". After the MQ when I didn't get the curing dialogue, I thought I'd blown it by my earlier dialogue choices. But, after adventuring with her awhile, the curing dialogue popped up out of nowhere.
