sinnerman69
Gunmar's, Florentius Baenius and Sorine Jurard chests are under the floor or ground where the smith is set up, you'll get a bounty if you loot them, not sure about Florentius Baenius chest and there's also a spell book beside the chests!.. You use tcl to get to them, seen a youtube video yesterday and the guy's how too get to them was to complicated, he as bashing wooden plates against a pillar door way in his how to find the secret video and I thought, geesh dude just use tcl  http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm172/sretsgiarc/chests3.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm172/sretsgiarc/chests.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm172/sretsgiarc/chests2.jpg Edited August 15, 2012 by sinnerman69

luzburg
lol why do people feel the need to tell us this. As for non tacky console tomfoolery secrets, theres that cave you can go through into a mine where you gotta hit the targets to open doors, thats a fun place. Perraine
Why bother at all ... Seriously ! ... If you going to CHEAT (their is no point softening it) and use the console to type TCL ... Just use player.additem and get whatever the f*** you want without even moving ... Again, what's the point? By the time you get to that stage in the story, you should have all the gold you'll ever need anyway ... Gold is so easy to come by in Skyrim, the whole concept is laughable. sinnerman69
I find it funny that people make youtube video's on how to find this crap, there was another where a guy was jumping from roof to roof in whiterun just to show you a hidden chest under the skyforge, but these are most likely xbox walkthrough cheats video's since xbox users can't cheat with mods or console command like PC users can!.. TheVampireDante
It's just the NPC's 'vendor chests' so they can sell you things. Everywhere that has merchants of some kind has this somewhere, Oblivion and Morrowind were the same.
dukefx
What Dante said. The Dawnstar khajiit merchant's stuff for example is next to the mine. It's nothing special.

Irony: I found that place, but the target pressure plates didn't work, so I had to TCL my way through.

And its not the only caravan chest lootable just the most convenient. Ri'Saad's is behind the wall where he sets up outside Markarth. (walk really slowly while looking @ the ground when next to the wall on the river side and you should get the option to loot). And the third caravan's loot I can't quite remember where but it is in the wilderness near the cost within view of Solitude. This one is both hard to find and out of the way though so not any real reason to loot it.

Are you sure you just didn't get stuck on the area where you need to put stuff on other plates before you hit the last one?
