zFrenzyy
Since today. I've been crashing everytime I quicksave but once in a while in works. It all started to happen after I downloaded 2 power armor retextures then the game decided not to want to quicksave.Quicksaving is the only way I got of saving except for the manual saving at the Menu which I haven't tried out to see if it would crash me.Basically, I started to crash every time I quicksaved since I downloaded 2 power armor retextures. If you would like to know the name/link just tell me.I even tried the game without them then it still crashes...Thanks for reading and I hope I get my problem solved. TomSawyer
Just one hint, dont use quicksave. This can corrupt your savegame. Use the normal way to save. And if possible avoid autosave. This can cause troubles too.
7thsealord
Total agreement. One of the very first things I did that noticeably improved game stability was to totally kill the Autosave. ALL of it. As a very wise man once said, "If it hurts when you do that, then DON'T do that." So, if Quicksave has been crashing or corrupting a significant portion of the time, then try using alternatives. Manual Saves have always worked fine for me - it is possibly one of the more reliable features of FO3. ;) Edited August 15, 2012 by 7thsealord
TCat
I totally agree with the above, that ALL Quicksave and AUTO save features should be turned OFF! And only use MANUAL saves :) Additionally you may have several already "corrupted" saves, which will cause you nothing but problems down the road or like you are having now. A quick tip I learned on this forum is how to check if a previous save is corrupt or not? In the console type "player.advlevel" if the player level up screen doesn't appear then most would consider this to be a "corrupted" save file wether it works or not ... this has saved me a ton of headaches down the road :) EDIT: More details can be read[HERE] post# 57 Edited August 15, 2012 by TCat
zFrenzyy
I've actually been quicksaving since I got the game but I turned off autosave. I also manual save too when I get to important parts.I tried the player.advlevel and it let me advance with no problems but it still wouldn't let me save.Although, I loaded back a previous manual manual save and it worked.Basically it was just a corrupted file (I don't know why :/)
