Fallout:Appalachia

Its been 5 years since the happening in New Vegas. For the sake of it, I'm going to say that the NCR ending is canon.

Setting: The Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, and North Carolina

The main town is called Eythesville, and is a vital town to all factions, mostly because multiple interstates cross here. With trade and supply routes so important, this makes a great town for factions to try and take control.

So, to avoid this long rough draft of a back story I wrote, I'll make things short and sweet, and try and I'd really like to know what you all think, whats realistic, and unrealistic...etc.

Eythesville is controlled by 4 major gangs, The Mafioso, The Lost, Warlocks, and Ghosts. Their crime syndicate is known as the Dark Dynasty and while they keep the locals of Eythesville fairly safe, everything they do is for the caps. The only people locals have to fear at the moment, are the Dark Dynasty themselves. They are ruthless, and rule with fear, not fairness.

The Dark Dynasty banded together to keep one primary enemy out: The New Confederate States.

While having heard the stories of Caesar's Legion, The N.C.S doesn't approve of slavery, but do not stop individuals from owning them. They have a belief in freedom of their people, and a limited government. They try to do all diplomatic solutions before it comes to warfare. After claiming major cities in from FL to VA they have finally made it into the small towns of the Appalachian Mountains in SWVA and the border of NC. Although they will and have exterminated entire groups of people, they prefer to bring them into the NCS and allow elected officials to help for the big picture in politics, and try to gather volunteers to enlist in their military.

The Brotherhood of Steel is slowly emerging into the Appalachia they havn't made splash into the play for Eythesville. It is assumed they have learned of locations for hidden armories and supply caches of advanced and prewar weaponry and technology. It is feared by the other factions that they are just biding their time to make a move to control the small town. Probably waiting for a few battles to take place before they sweep in.

There are a few other smaller tribes of people, like mountain men, traders and raiders that roam the mountains and have established settlements, but ground zero for the fighting is Eythesville.

I was thinking a Legion apperence could happen. I'm not sure though, I mean with them losing at Hoover Dam, and Caesar dying, I imagine that they fell back towards Arizonia and started to expand towards the east, to absorb tribes since they figured they couldn't fight the NCR after failing twice in major defeats. A new Caesar rises to power, more ambitious and rutheless then the first, and he figures that slowly but surely the east is the way to go. Trying to own basically the center states, so he can either go north, south or west with his army. I wasn't sure if that was good for the plot though.

But I figured, that would make the N.C.S decisions that much more important. Because if they wage war with the Dark Dynasty the Legion, or the Brotherhood could come in and it would just be a mess.

Thats kinda a back story, but a short one. I was thinking the Dark Dynasty wants to keep what is their's. They earned it. The NCS is trying to unite the northern and southern wasteland, and legion and brotherhood are doing their things. They always have motives that better them.

So what would the PC do? Help rebuild a destroyed society? Help maintain the way of life that has kept them safe for years? What is better for the Appalachian Wasteland? Military control or the people ruling? Help out more in the long run, or stay safe in what you know? Are the New Confederate States going to be the good they say they are, or are you willing to see a select for flourish while everyone else just survives?

Of course, I have all kinds of ideas just floating around, and I'm trying to get them together, but I'd really like to see what other fallout players think about this
