BlackScreen, hi, this is just a guess, i'd say you're expecting too much graphic rendering performance from

your older windows xp gaming rig with only 768-1024mb vram on a gtx 460 running lots of HD texture mods; in addition to,

all the hybrid post-processing, injector, and shader engines from:

RCRN v3 HDR Realistic Colors and Real Nights by aLaaa (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1875).

But, since it seems your game does run for alittle while, your GPU/CPU may simply be overheating and shutting down to protect itself.

Are you monitoring your GPU/CPU temps? Check the cooling inside your pc case.

Have you tried launching Skyrim as an administrator? (disable tesv.exe UAC (windows user account control)).

Do you really need RCRN and all those HD textures?

RCRN is sometimes known for having potential issues with unoptimized or buggy HD texture packs fyi.

anyway, just guess'n!

guessings are good. its a first step to solve a problem. but when my gpu cant handle it why do i get 45-60 fps?

yes i record my temperatures. gpu and cpu temperatures are fine. especially cpu cause i dont use the boxed cooler.

so its definetly no overheating.maybe its too few vram but hopefully not cause i should have laggs but its running on 45-60 frames.

i cant test if its the sound bug cause i cant adjust it in xp but i will have a look if its better to run as admin.

thx so far for you respond i will update after testings

BlackScreen, i've only got 1536 MB of dedicated VRAM and use the HighResolutionTexturePackDLC

plus selected parts (not all) 2K (not 4K) texture pack mod.

you might want to take a look at this Skyrim Tweak Guide put together by the folks at Nvidia:

http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide/#1

you also might want to run DXDIAG just to check if all your system components pass DirectX diagnostics.

if you look at the comments section of the RCRN mod you're using, you'll see a few other people reporting crash issues

that seem the same as yours.

anyway, i suspect your issues is either RCRN and/or HD texture related.

your gpu performance will run at whatever fps it is capable of rendering, i don't think you can realistically use fps to

diagnose/troubleshoot skyrim stability issues.

if you're referring to that known sound playback issue, the fix was to go into your sound playback devices configuration and

set your advanced speaker properties to a default format maybe 16bit-24bit, 44100Hz-48000hz (Studio Quality).

i dunno if bethesda ever completely fixed this.

Here is a link to my troubleshooting blog.

This is updated often so come back later for more.

If you use any of this and have some success - or even if nothing works - please post back here what you did that worked or didn't work. That kind of information can be invaluable to other members having the same or similar problems - And to me in fixing any problems in the blog.
