HostDisorder
Okay, this one is weird because I can run Oblivion which I'm told uses the same engine as Fallout NV and for some reason I get an odd slow lag when fighting NPC's and when I'm around lighted areas or large places like Primm.I've applied the DLL fix, and I've put the settings all the way up, and then all the way down with the fix on and off.I've downloaded mods that remove things like tumbleweeds and other useless stuff that invokes lag spikes and to my severe discomfort the weird lag does not desist. It makes the game horrific and unplayable and I'm about to give up.I've got a decent rig, but it's a laptop (toshiba sattelite) and with it I've been able to run about 80% of games I've come across. The lag seems to go away for about 5-10 seconds if I pause the game and then unpause it, so I get seconds of New Vegas mayhem fun at a time but I wish it were hours. This is one of my favorite series of games and it pains me to say I'm almost about to give up on PC (which is far superior in my opinion to console versions, considering mods and other amazing bonuses). Could someone please help me, I'm at my wits end here. :psyduck:
NoirBreaker
If anything you should try the Fallout Configator - it allows you to make more changes to the game to further improve frame rates. Should that not be enough, I recommend you read up on the Fallout 3 Tweak Guide to look into .ini changes for further improvement. I recall there being quite a bit of talk about your problem. Try going on Google and that should help you receive further insight on your problem. :DD
