A somewhat tiring problem.

Hey all,

Recently, though I don't have a clue actually when it occured, my fatigue simply refused to regenerate beyond a certain point. (roughly one third of my max, 170 or so of a max of roughly 500). Everything else about my fatigue behaves normally, but it simply stops when it reaches that point, as though it thinks it's full. The bar remains a third full, and my stats continue to reflect that it's only a third full, but it won't refill any further. Nothing is draining or affecting my statistics in any way that I can tell, and I haven't changed or moved my mods around in any ways that I've not had them before without incident. the only thing of note that has afectied my character's stats in a non-normal way is that I spent a brief stint as a vampire around the same time this began and have since been cured.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting something like this, as I can't see any other such problem threads floating about, but I can't figure out what to do about it, and I really hope someone here can suggest something I might do to fix the problem... it's somewhat of a pain.

This is actually a topic for mod talk or troubleshooting, but I'll help ya anyway if I can.

Your describtion reads like a fatigue mod. I for example am using Realistic fatigue which also adds a more realistic encumbrance. Basically, if you carry around many heavy things, you have less fatigue and if you carry too much, your fatigue will gradually decrease untill you drop unconscious. How about you try to drop several items and see if your fatigue regenerates then?

Look in the active effects page in the spell menu, then look for anything that seems unnatural or has A Sickness added to it. if none were there, use the tgm console command to make it regenerate, then save your game when you're Fully Regenerated, load it again and it should be fixed.

I can also think of this if you did not find any Sickness, buy some Cure Desease Potions from an alchemist then drink them, it should fix if there is a sickness.

you can also try this console command to reset the Fatigue:

player.setAV Endurance 100

then return it to your Default Fatigue.

using the same Console command but Typing the Default Endurance number instead of 100.

cheers,

IHOE

Hi, thanks for the info, and sorry for posting out of place. If it needs a move, then please do, don't believe I can do so at any rate.

Tried the things mentioned and here're the results:

First off, I'm not running any fatigue modifiers or patches, or encumberance mods, or anything like that. Mostly all I get are housing, texture, race, weapons aromour and quest expansion mods. Nothing that tinkers with the game mechanics or dynamic itself.

Double checked for ills and sicknesses, and recast my curatives for them just incase, but there's nothing wrong with me, it seem, no change there.

God Mode (tgm) did nothing... no regeneration at all, stats stayed the same, game continued to act as though that one third of my max was my actual max. (just as, if I drain my fatigue by going a few rounds with something heavy, it'll rgenerate normally, up to that magic number, then stop.)

As a further experiment, I set my endurance down to 1... This left me with 3 fatigue points, out of about 190 max, capped. After that, I dropped the sales of pitiless justice which I'm currently carrying, and lo, I fell immediately (and permanently) unconscious, having no fatigue at all, until I put my endurance back up to it's actual level and recovered.

I'm a light armour character, primarily, I'm not carrying much. My standing encumberance is only about 120 of a maximum of 550 or so. My numbers are rather high for a normal character, I admit, but she's a level 48 cahracter, and has naturally raised all but strength and luck to 100 through leveling. Most skills are approaching 100 as well. This means that through other worn enchantments on armour, my standing endurance is actually 112 (all bar strength and luck are over 100 when I'm wearing my armour and jewellery)

the only other ting I can think of that might possibly be affecting me is that I use the "character Backgrounds" mod, which allows you to fill out a backstory for your character, which in turn has an effect on your stats. (they show up in the magical effects pannel, but behave like birthsigns, so won't cause reds or greens on the actual stat page) I've double checked everything there and nothing does anything to my fatigue, howeer, I do have the "frail constitution" background, which says it only gives a 20% weakness to normal weapons, but I suppose it might do this as a hidden effect. I'll turn off the mod and check.

Thanks again for the advice, and I'll post up again if this works. (or if it doesn't...)

Update:

Turned off backgrounds patch, but it made no difference, aside from cleaning up my magical effects pannel somewhat.

In light of this, tried a new experiment.

Rest my level to one, changed my starsign, and then changed it back to attronach, changed my race to basic imperial, then set all of my stats to 1.

Result looked like this:

Imperial Female,

Sign Attronach,

Level 1,

Health 321/321

Magic 152/152

Fatigue -287/4

Attributes: All at 1

Encumberance: 0 (I dumped everything as well, just inc ase it made a difference)

Magical effects: Stunted Magic, Fortified Magic, Magic Absorb, all from attronach sign, nothing else.

In game, I'm unconscious and will never wake up, God mode does nothing, nor does anything else, short of raising my stats enough to give me some fatigue back.

Does anyone have a clue what the heck is going on here?

Ya, I thought of that, but sadly, using that command leaves me always permanently locked the same 292 fatigue points below my maximum.

player.satAV Fatigue 0 Results in 174/466

player.satAV Fatigue 10 Results in 184/476

player.satAV Fatigue 226 Results in 400/692

And so on, If I put a negative number on it, it jumps back to the absolute maximum (some six digit number I didn't record... but a six digit number 292 points below some other six digit number... so the bar looked full, of course.)

It's very strange.

there isn't a quest anywhere that temporarily caps off a chunk of your fatigue is there? or anything like that? I don't recall anything like that, but it seems like an odd emchanic or other that's simply saying "you can't regenerate the last 292 points of your fatigue, whatever your max total is" which is why I fall unconcscious if I make my max total less than 292 by stat manipulation.
