Flopsies
I'm pretty sure someone made a mod for FO3 where you can go to New York, don't know where though...
mgoldman14
I'm all up for this, id like to see a populated city too! like people actually walking around and shopping. but that may cause MAJOR fps drop. and if someone makes it please no dlc requirements. greenknightfury
In Fallout lore New York would probably be a major target and a big radioactive crater after thenuclear attack ...liberty island may have survived, could be a starting point ;) But D.C. (much more important target) survived what was called the most intense of the bombings so it would make sense that New York would have been in about the same shape as D.C. greenknightfury
I'm pretty sure someone made a mod for FO3 where you can go to New York, don't know where though... They started to and then abandoned it after only some of the work was done, mostly over issues of not being able to get other modders help from what they posted. I see your point. if you look at the devastation in Hiroshima (where most houses were made of wood) you'll notice that most of the stone buildings are still standing. http://www.britannica.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/76528-hiroshima-devastation.jpg So the task at hand (recreating New York) remains enormous. I wanted to keep Liberty Island relatively intact as a starting point for a NY mod, because it is a very limited, though visually appealing area, with a good setting for several quests, with the broken NY skyline in the background, hopefully enticing modders to take on the city itself :D there's a free 3DS mesh of Lady Liberty here. may save a modder some work :) Edited August 23, 2012 by channel0
holdinghats
There's something like this out for Fallout 3. I haven't played it so I don't know if it's any good, but it's there. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/7010
