Satori42
Hey I was just thinking it would be pretty sweet if xEdit had a quick conflict patcher that would find all the errors and conflicts and write it's own patch to make everything work with no conflicts without me having to manually do it. I can see it being an issue if you use it for lighting mods that overwrite each other so the manual way would be best for that, but for weapons and armour if it could automatically find new weapons or armour you have added to your load order re-write any conflicts so all of the mods get merged into one file to make it easier for the load order to know where to put them all. it makes me wonder why this isn't a thing already ( drop all weapons in a weapon folder and armour into a armour folder that xEdit or Vortex will find and do said patch for you to make everything work neat without all the hard work of making the patches or mergers by yourself and making mistakes. ) this could also be done for other mods to a category folder drop it in, then select the effects you want added (somehow from a manager menu) so there is no conflicts. I have no idea how hard this idea would be to do for vortex but it seems like a good idea to make it more simplistic. also you should make the load order easier to change by letting us set a number from a box for what plugin is enabled. ( load order: 1 - 2 - 4 changeable by just clicking a box editing that plugins # on the list without using the manage rules and sort plugins button ) or just click and drag to move the plugin in the list to order it yourself manually if you know where everything goes this makes it more user friendly but also keeping vortex sort option the same for the users that like making rules for quick sort. Maybe my idea could use some more review but a more user friendly way to mod for sure. I really like Vortex compared to NMM it runs a lot better it just could use some extra fine touches to make it a completely awesome do it all program. maybe all you programmers can work together on it to combine xEdit with Vortex and other patchers/mergers out there. I also liked the way loot would sort my plugins for me as well based on a master list maybe this could be done with Vortex as well.
Psywizard
xEdit definitely needs to be more user friendly. Heck, I can't even install the xEdit "quickclean" add-on...I've followed their instructions to the letter but it will not install. I'm probably doing something wrong, but that's the whole point of making software user friendly so that those errors are accounted for and corrected through instructional prompts, or whatever. Anyway, I totally agree with you...maybe someday we'll see the changes you've suggested, but I ain't gonna hold my breath!
