dinitrophenylamine
hello i have a simple question, how can i tweak my settings such that i can see people at a further distance?? i have already tuned all my objects, trees etc fade distance to the max already but while im in town, i notice that people fade away when they became further away. Is there a way around this???
dinitrophenylamine
i just found out after testing what is causing this. It is the Streamline 3.1 and OblivionScriptOptimization. Whenever i try to change the settings, it automatically reverts back to the default settings. I dunno why this is happening but currently i have turned off both of these mods. Perhaps there is a way around this??
bben46
Streamline 3.1 is a beta version that is not finished. What you describe is an experimental feature of the streamsight portion of the mod. It was designed to change the settings on the fly to keep your FPS in the range you specify. That can be disabled while leaving some of the other features turned on. For more help with this mod, see the official Thread here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=824838 Lots of good advice here. bben46
Every system is different, every game is different. What works for someone else may make it worse on your system. What is acceptable performance for someone else may be poor to you. What that means is that there is no one right way to set it up. You have to make changes and see what happens. Try lowering you FPS expectations. on mine, a lower FPS range allowed seeing some things at a longer distance. However, it caused other problems. There is lots of advice and things other people have tried on the official thread. If you haven't spent several days trying different settings and then testing in game, you have barely started. I have been playing Oblivion for two years now and still make changes almost daily.
