thediddy
Hello everyone I just encountered a strange problem. I updated my game from 1.10.120 to 1.10.130 and all f4se mods to the newest version and as expected got a CTD after game start  However after some testing I found out that some mods that have BA2 files attached make the game crash. The culprits are completly unrelated for example "Scrap Everything", "Wasteland Ventures", "Valerian Armor" or "Unicorn Farts and Godrays". The only thing these mods have in common are BA2 files. So I extracted the BA2s of the mods that were causing the game to crash and it worked. Anyway I still got a lot of mods with BA2 files that cause no issues. File corruption shouldn't be the problem because i tried redownloading them first. Does anyone have expierienced the same? Am I missing some stupid .ini setting or something? I just don't get it. Shawnz392
Had a similar issue. There seems to be a BA2 limit
Deleted49413338User
If there is a limit, anyone know what it is? I know each ba2 has a size limit of I thing about 4.2gb but is there a limit to number that will load and does it depend on ram, vram or other factors? I heard Ba2 is more optimized to load faster but that probably means its being stored in some sort of temp cache I guess?

icestormng
I'm not sure whether there is a limit in the game engine or not. But I could imagine they're mapping the file into memory. Windows has some limits there depending on the amount of system memory and some other factors like version of your OS.I have about 700 BA2s loaded (exactly: 687 with the vanilla ones included) and all of them work. If there IS a hard limit in the engine, then it must be beyond that number. Yeah. BA2 files are in (almost) every way better than loose files. It could be that the BA2 file is compressed with the wrong settings. Otherwise, there is not a lot you could do wrong with them...
