Mods... mods... cursed mods...

As mentioned I'd go with Locational Damage over Deadly Reflexes. In DR the horse combat is buggy and even with NO other mods running I would crash maybe every ten to twenty minutes (with my mods it was closer to five to ten) but since disabling it and getting Locational I've had a three hour play session without one crash. Only interruptions where smoke breaks, and that's how my gaming SHOULD be! Now if only my girlfriend would realise that too...

Thank you, mate. I'll get those right away.

BTW, where do the unofficial patches fit in?

tcwleblanc's advice is solid... the Unofficial Patches fix an immense number of little bugs and visual glitches, one of the most-important ones being the Race Fix that allows you to progress in the tutorial when playing a non-vanilla race, amongst others.

And now, for a shameless plug of my own work...

If you've gotten ALL the DLC Expansions, I just published my first mod, a fusion of the Unofficial Patches for SI, the DLC Expansions, and SM Plugins Refurbish, which I think makes managing the mods in your game a bit simpler. All credit goes to the original authors on this one...

You should also check out some of the Quest mods... Blood & Mud: Dirt Deluxe is great, Lost Spires is great, Zealots of the Nine... there's a lot of good ones out there.
