aodacsflame
Recently, my main gaming desktop died on me. While it was down, i tried to play my characters on my secondary computer (which happens to be quite a bit more powerful). The problem is, even after installing all my mods on the new computer, It still tells me that im missing content and that objects may not load. If i continue on, the game goes to the loading screen, then crashes instantly, without an error message. I've made sure i have all the same mods, and that they all load in the same order. My primary computer is now back online, but because is it leaps and bounds weaker then my other computer, im still interested in transferring all of my data over. Possibly: -A hard transfer of all my skyrim data from the primary computer to the secondary computer?-An editor that will let me essentially re-create the same character Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Can post screenshots or my mod lists if it helps

sinnerman69
If you only transferred esp and esm files, you may be missing the textures, meshes and scripts for the mod if they use those, also make sure to add skse script extender if any of the mods depend on them and don't forget to add the line bEnableFileSelection=1 to your SkyrimPrefs.ini located in My document/MyGames/Skyrim Owe and if you completely transfered the whole game over to the other PC that may not work, skyrim install's itself in three parts of your PC, my documents, local file and the program directory and thing's need to be added to the registry of your PC to make it run properly!.. bben46
Copying the game will not work. It must be installed - Beth likes to hide things in the Windows registry during the install. Then later if it can't find them it won't work. Then, many mods are more than an esp or esm. The textures, meshes and other parts are buried deep in the file structure and if they are missing - the game can crash at any time. Then there are the ini files - they are based on hardware and if you just copy them over, unless the new computer has exactly the same hardware there will be problems - better to not copy them at all and allow the game to rebuild them. Then make any changes to the non hardware parts of the ini files. Once you get the vanilla game working on the new computer, you may have to install each mod again. (not just copy it) If all of the mods are installed properly, then the old saves can be copied and will work.
aodacsflame
I never copied the game data, i was simply wondering if i could copy all of the modded data over bit by bit. When my primary computer died, i installed skyrim via steam, then installed all the mods via the nexus. All of the mods were installed the same way in the same load order. So with all of the same data, installed (correctly) in the same way and with the same load order, i should have been able to pick up my saves and have them work. But i my old games crashed instantaneously. There shouldn't have been a confliction, because all new games i started worked fine. If i edited my .ini's for my primary computer, but not my secondary, would that make a difference? I cant imagine.
