Modded skyrim se crashes at main menu (was fine yesterday with same profile)

I have played about 25 hours on my current save with this mod list: https://modwat.ch/u/ch3nhnh2/modlist. It has been stable and I have no problems normally starting the game or with crashes. Yesterday I was in MO2 updating lightweight grass overhaul with the new snow grass plugin when suddenly all of my plugins were disabled and no longer in order (but instead in alphabetical order). I have no idea what I did. No worries I thought to myself - I will just reload my backup. *groans* I forgot to make one. So I disabled all my mods and reinstalled them in order as I did when I created this profile, ran loot, made a few modification I remembered. Start up with skse64 loader in MO2 and....the game crashes to desktop before I get to the main menu.

I tried this a few more times, same result. Restarted the PC - no change. Re downloaded MO2 - no change. Loaded in SSE Edit - no errors. Reinstalled my graphic drivers - no change. Verified the game files - no change. Loading on a clean profile with no mods that game started up fine and I could see the main menu. So I think it is a load order problem but for the life of me I cannot figure out what is wrong. Please help!

Some extra info: I disabled all my plugins (intentionally this time) and started adding them back one by one to see if I could find what the problem was. Everything was going well until plugin #18 or cutting room floor. With CTF enabled I crashed again. So I left it off and kept going down the list and was fine again until Claralux. Embers also caused the menu not to load. In fact going down the plugins after than most of them seem to result in a crash at the main menu.

I have spent most of today trying to fix this and I am so confused. I would be extremely grateful to anyone who has insight into what might be going on. Thanks in advance.

Nevermind! I think I fixed it by moving XPMSE lower in my load order. Duh.
