Civil War mod problem

I was on my second play through Skyim, overr 100 hours and had quite a few mods activated. It was working fine and I was up to level 35. Then I activated the civil war mod. I started the game, got as far as the final loading screen and then it cut straight back to the desk top. For some reason the civil war mod has stopped me playing the game. I wonder of anyone has any idea as to wht this is happening and what I can do to get playing again without having to delete, reload and start again from scratch.
