brumking
I bought Skyrim for PC. I had a nervous breakdown when I realised it was compulsory to install Steam as well. God I hate Steam. Anyway, I no longer have an internet connection (I have to come to my moms) and therefore became unable to play Skyrim as you must start up Steam and connect to the internet before you can play the game. I'd bought the game, and couldn't play it. So you know what I did? seeing as I'd paid for it already and Steam robbed me of my right to play it? Yeah, you guessed it, I downloaded a cracked version from my mate's pc onto disk and started playing that one. I'd paid for it, why should I not be allowed to play it. Except the cracked version seems to be un-moddable. Now I realise this thread will probably get the usual jealous haters posting with "NOOO PIRATE!!!KILL HIM, BURN HIM WITH FIRE" and probably chase me with pitchforks but fact of the matter is I PAID COLD HARD CASH for this game so I'll be damned if I can't play it, internet or no. Anyway.....anyone know how I can use mods for the cracked one, or play the retail version I have WITHOUT that stupid f*****g Steam nonsense (play it offline, basically). Thanks to anyone that tries to help. And F*** you to anyone that criticises what I've done, like I care what pretentious morals you have.
RitualBlack
People are not going to convert their mods to work with a cracked version so you can pick whether you want limited mod use or to play the version you have, and you attitude isn't exactly inviting for people to help. Aside from that there are two things you can try to play the legitimate version of the game (up to date with latest skse). The first being the method I use when I boot my computer without an internet connection. You can trick the skse launcher into thinking steam is running by simply launching steam and allowing it to go through to the 'Could not connect to Steam Network' window. Leave this open and than launch Skyrim. If that doesn't work and you are able to go somewhere with internet connection with your computer you can download and use the Steam Offline Fix utility. It comes with a .pdf explaining exactly how to use it.
bben46
We are not interested in Why you pirate a game. Piracy for any reason is still against the rules. If you were able to go online to pirate, then, IF you do have a legal copy, you could go online with steam and set the game to play off line without resorting to piracy. Banned for supporting & encouraging piracy.Bben46
