Thandal
^^ THIS ^^ I absolutely refuse to use Chrome for this very reason. It gets "installed without asking" far too often. Any software that thinks it can reside on my rig without even a by-your-leave gets kicked to the curb immediately. :armscrossed:
r40k2011
I wouldn't recommend an automatic installation of a dependent mod, some people might not like the idea of a mod they don't really know being "just added" to their mod list.. Perhaps a message warning that one of the "required" mods for the one being downloaded isn't present and then offering the choice of downloading the required file, or aborting the installation of the mod you had chosen? Not a problem. Package manager must allow user to force installation of a package without its dependencies. It also must ask user before installing or removing anything. Every package manager on linux does that.
pippinstrano
Yup. Of course, mod developers will probably not respond to requests for assistance from people who don't have dependencies loaded, but I don't see that as being inappropriate.
