Rennn
I'm trying to make a body mod based on the vanilla bodies. I like the shape of them, and I hate texture seams, clipping, and exaggerated proportions, so I'll be making nude body mods for males and females by editing the vanilla meshes and textures. I have Blender and Nifskope, but I'm not sure how to convert body meshes safely between Blender/Nifskope/Skyrim. Would a program such as 3ds Max be easier to use, or is Blender adequate for conversions and edits? I'll pay for another program if it'll make editing or converting nifs simpler. Also, if someone could just explain how to convert specifically character bodies so that the necessary data stays intact, that'd be really appreciated. Posting a link that describes that would be good as well. I noticed that in the Meshes.bsa, there are two body meshes for each sex:malebody_0malebody_1 femalebody_0femalebody_1 Both versions for each sex look identical to me in Nifskope, which do I edit? GileadMaerlyn
Both. The _0 is the mesh for the left side of the weight slide, the _1 is for the right side. For blender and nifskope, you have this excellent tutorial. It's for creating an armor, but all the info you need for what you want to do is there.

Rennn
I installed PyFFI, but for some reason Nif Scripts thinks that I don't have the right version and keeps making me redownload it. Is there a way to get this fixed, or is there a way to edit Skyrim's meshes without using Nif Scripts in Blender? Edit: Nevermind, I was reading it as if I needed the 2.6 version of PyFFI, when I really needed the version of PyFFI meant for the 2.6 version of Python. Yay! I now have the body meshes imported successfully into Blender [for the first time ever]. Edited August 19, 2012 by Rennn
