Chargenmorph

I'm kinda new to the whole modding thing... I don't quite understand how to make the chargenmorph compiler work. It worked once and then it wouldn't open anymore - it said that there was an error and that the chargenmorph compiler wasn't working blah blah...

But all I want is Anto hairstyles and pineappletree's vibrant colours. I read in a few places that there was something that you could do with a word document thing? And if I wanted to have them both, could I do it without the compiler thing?

If anyone could help, that would be greatly appreciated!

Edit:

I've tried a few different chargenmorph compiler programs, but they are not working. the response I usually get is this:

"DA Chargenmorph has stopped working; windows is checking for a solution", or

"Unhandled exception as occured in your application... blah blah."

and I always made sure that I had the things that it said were necessary for the program to work, so I don't know what's going on.

Hi Xyneseyx,

You can change the entries in the chargenmorph by hand. You don't need the compiler but it's of course faster and very practical to use one.

Open your override folder, for the most of us here -> (My Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Packages\Core\Override).

  • There is the changenmorphcfg.xml
  • backup it
  • Open it with editor or word pad
  • Now you must copy the lines from the mods chargenmorphcfg.xml and paste them in the correspondending entries of your existing chargenmorphcfg. Or you do it by line for line.
  • For e.g. Anto hairstyle you have to put them under: <hairs>

The human male ones of course under human male, the dwarven femal under dwarven femal etc.

<hairs>

<human_male>

<resource name="hm_har_coolsims033_0" cut="1"/>

<resource name="hm_har_coolsims038_0" cut="1"/>

<resource name="hm_har_coolsims070_0" cut="1"/>

<resource name="hm_har_coolsims075_0" cut="1"/>

<resource name="hm_har_coolsims089_0" cut="1"/>

and so on.

When you have finished it, save and et voila it should work!:)

I've done all that, but they're still not working... I have to save it into the override folder, correct? and it doesn't matter which program I use? (notepad vs word processor)

And I'm supposed to copy & paste over what's already there?

Hm, I think it doesn't matter.

The chargenm. from anto and pineapple have the original bioware lines of course, for the original hair etc. When you look at your override chargen they should be there too! You only have to copy the new lines.

I'm very bad in explaining things and English is not my first language. If you like, you can sent me a pm with your mail adress and I will sent you the compiled chargenmorph.:)
