Spotnik329
Skyrim SE: 1.5.73SKSE: 2.0.15Mod Manager: Mod Organizer 2 v2.2.0 Hello. My current modding setup follows Nordic Skyrim v3.6 for the most part. My modlist and load order have been provided. I am about 16-17 hours into my current play through and am running into consistent crashes when loading any cell after several minutes of playing. I believe it is a scripting issue but I have very little knowledge when it comes to diagnosing issues related to scripting. When checking the papyrus log it says [05/08/2019 - 05:50:42AM] --[[Legacy of the Dragonborn has finished checking for patched mods.]]--[05/08/2019 - 05:50:55AM] [05/08/2019 - 05:50:55AM] =====iNeed (_sn) is finished refreshing itself and searching for addons!=====[05/08/2019 - 05:50:55AM] [05/08/2019 - 05:51:04AM] [bOS] Updated 1383 factions.[05/08/2019 - 05:51:10AM] SUMMERMYST DEBUG: Resetting Unified Ab to work around the ability condition bug[05/08/2019 - 05:53:35AM] Error: Mismatched types assigning to variable named "::temp19"stack:[alias refPlayerAlias on quest JaxonzNameGen (36000D62)].realnamesssepatchplayeralias.OnKeyDown() - "RealNamesSSEPatchPlayerAlias.psc" Line 605[05/08/2019 - 05:53:35AM] Error: Mismatched types assigning to variable named "::temp15"stack:[alias Player on quest aaaQLQuest (C2000D62)].aaaQLPlayerAliasScript.OnControlDown() - "aaaQLPlayerAliasScript.psc" Line 120[05/08/2019 - 05:53:51AM] VM is freezing...[05/08/2019 - 05:53:51AM] VM is frozen as the last few entries and I'm not sure what to make of that. If you need anymore information to help just let me know. PS: I tried uploading my papyrus log but every time I used 'Choose File' and selected 'Papyrus.0.log' as the file to upload, the row, including the option for clear selection, went white and the 'Attach This File' option no longer worked which prevented me from uploading it. If you would like to look at it then could you recommend an alternative way for me to provide it. EDIT: I changed the file extension for my papyrus log to .txt and was able to upload it. argininesy
Unless I'm missing something, that's over 430 plugins in your load order. You should repost with only your active plugins. Or if all of those are currently active, either merge A LOT of them (I didn't notice anything that looked like merged patchs), or convert a bunch to .esl so you aren't running over the 255 plugin limit. Check that you have LOOT up to date; it often points out incompatibilities or missing patches. Clean any plugins wherever loot points them out, preferably with the quick auto clean function that comes with the more recent sseedit versions. As for papyrus logs not loading, the .log format may not be supported by the forum's uploader. You might try copy-pasting the text contents into spoilers here. However, speaking from experience, papyrus logs are useless for diagnosing crashes 99% of the time.
Spotnik329
I appreciate your reply. As I said, I'm following the Nordic Skyrim guide. I have already cleaned, fixed, and patched all of my mods. I have all of the tools required updated to the current version. All of the mods that can be flagged esl have been, which is why I have so many plugins as a lot of them are just patches. I wouldn't have gotten 16 hours into my play through if that wasn't the case. If the issue was my load order, it would have caused issues much earlier on just like with having too many plugins. I believe the issue has to do with a script not working properly but I don't know anything about scripting and would like help from someone who does know a bit about scripting. I'll try uploading the papyrus log as a text file. Some further detail into the issue. I can sit in the current cell I'm in and no crashes occur. It only crashes when trying to move from one cell to another. I've traveled all around Skyrim and it always happens a few minutes after I load my save. I did add several mods after starting my play current play through that added armor and patched some issues with the black face bug. I also ran into an issue with dyndolod that caused all of my trees to not load and so I was only seeing the lod produced for them. After rebuilding my lod the issue was fixed. I wasn't sure if that would cause any major issues though. I'll let you know if anything changes.
Spotnik329
However, speaking from experience, papyrus logs are useless for diagnosing crashes 99% of the time. Ok so after reading some more forum posts on what scripting is and how the papyrus engine works, you are right. The papyrus log is almost always used for modders to debug their scripts and won't provide much insight into most crashes. I guess I'll keep looking around for more answers then. Again thank you for the response and if you could provide anymore help it would be much appreciated.
Spotnik329
Well I think I narrowed down the issue. After looking at the resource details in task manager, Skyrim SE is just under 4gb RAM usage before the crash so I think the game is just running out of memory. I'll have to see what I can do with enboost to fix the issue.
argininesy
I don't think the 4gb limit applies to SE. With Oldrim it was definitely the case as the memory fixes and ENBoost were pretty much mandatory, but SE is 64-bit and so the only limit is your computer hardware. I don't even know if there's a point to using ENBoost with SSE. I see that you have Skyrim Immersive Creatures loaded; try disabling the increased/extra spawns if you haven't already. Before I did so I experienced frequent ctds around where wolves or goblins would spawn. Have you removed any mods or shuffled your load order in the middle of your playthrough? I've read that that can cause issues.
