A while ago I started to make a new armor set for Skyrim. Sadly I am not skilled enough in Nifscope to properly import it. I tried again and again, but the damn thing won't port textures. I want this thing badly, so I post my general design and what it was based on.

Design:

Two sets: One light armor and one heavy armor.

Heavy Armor: Ysmir, the Dragon of the North

Light Armor: Ysmir, the Snake of the South

General design: Heavy: Mash up of Nordic (ancient nord/Tsun) and Dragonbone, with lots of fur for covering the arms and legs.

What i intended the helmet to look like - Image of helmet below.

Light armor: Black leather with dragonscale, and merish ornaments - no model (got a general idea)

Lore - becuase I indented it to be Lore-friendly:

Ysmir - a legendary figure in Nordic culture Many imperial schoolars thought of him as one person or the Nordic representation of Talos the 9th divine, but in reality it is a title bestowed by the Greybeards on a dragonborn that is worthy . In ancient Atmoran society Ysmir were believed to be the mortal repersentation or Avatar of Bromahu - the Dragon Father (today known as Akatosh) the defender of the realm and champion of man and master of the voice . The title also ties up with Shor the king of Gods, as those who were ackonwledged as Ysmir are believed to be worthy of the Stormcrown and are the eyes of Shor. This ties up with the ancient belief of Lorkhan/Akatosh dichotomy as there is not time without space, there is no snake without the dragon.

Known Ysmir's:

Pelinal Whitestrike

Tiber Septim

King Wulfharth

and an unknown Ysmir who fought with Indoril Nerevar at the battle of the Red Mountain (as told by Vivec)

The Greybeards bestow the name of Ysmir on one with the ancient ritual and words of power as follows:

"Long has the Storm Crown Languished with no worthy brow to sit upon. By our breath we bestow it now to you in the name of Kyne, in the name of Shor, and in the name of Atmora of old. You are Ysmir now, the Dragon of the North. Harken to it."

Little known fact is that the Merish society of the south had it's own vision of Ysmir - The Snake of the South. The mortal representation of Lorkhan and the crown of Auriel, whitch is the opposite of the nordic vision and again ties up to the dichotomy.

Netherless. Ysmir were like gods among mortals, revered as protectors, conquerors and vanquishers. The best blacksmiths of old forged an armor worthy for it's master. Rumor has it, that the armor still exists and it's spread all over skyrim in ancient dragon temples and nordic ruins.

The Idea:

Helmet, Cuirass, Botts and gauntlets - light and heavy versions (diffrent) spread through 8 Nordic dungeons: Stats - Dragonscale/Dragonplate. Maybe given by quest from a book about Ysmir. It would give the player a motivation to look around and collect set armor pieces through Skyrim, and it elevate the value of the armor - it's better to find something thatn just forge it and be done with it - there is no fun with that.
