JoeDash
I have recently downloaded skyrim for the first time on PC and have started adding mods. Obviously I needed SkyUI as it is a requirement for many amazing mods that I want to use, and as a result I needed to get SKSE64. However whenever I launch via SKSE64 (either directly from the file or through Vortex), my game pretty much crashes as soon as it starts up meaning I don't even see the Bethesda logo. I have tried reinstalling Skyrim, reinstalling SKSE64 and tried reinstalling every mod I had previously downloaded. Nothing seems to work and I can't find any fix on the internet, does anybody know how to fix this??? Edit: I have tried contacting the SKSE team directly and have recieved no response for a few days. argininesy
Have you run Skyrim through the vanilla launcher yet? That might be necessary for the inis to be generated before you can run through SKSE. That your game is crashing before it even reaches the logo suggests to me a missing master, or that when run via SKSE the game isn't able to locate your master esms (Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn). Also check that your mods (especially the ones that are SKSE-dependent) are updated. An outdated SKSE plugin could be causing the game to refuse to fully boot. Panruru
What sort of process are you using to install mods? Are you installing them all through Vortex, and have you made sure you're using the right load order? If you don't have much experience modding Skyrim you may have made some mistakes without realizing. A pretty reliable way to fix this sort of problem is to do a clean install of Skyrim, run the game and make sure everything works, install SKSE64, run the game and make sure everything works, THEN start installing mods. If you have any uncertainty about whether or not a mod could cause instability in your game, run the game after you install it and maybe even load a save to make sure it works. Don't install a whole bunch of mods at once without testing the game in between them! By opening the game after installing each mod or every couple of mods, you will be able to tell immediately which mod is giving you problems. Reach the instructions on the page of each mod you download. You may need to merge mods using Wrye Bash. Some mods require patches if you're going to use both of them at the same time. Be cautious and try not to install many mods that make big changes to your game until you have more experience.
