Sylantax
Pardon the weird topic, but a search on "copyright" here wasn't very successful. I'm planning on putting a muppet into my skyrim mod...he'll be (if I can figure out how the hell to do it) a greatly modified short bald nord, I guess..... No names will be mentioned but the physical resemblance and the voice is supposed to be close enough so that you'd easily guess who it is. Before I start on this lunacy, I'm wondering about copyright issues with a certain famous entertainment company that specializes in muppets. I want to find out before I even try making this sod...otherwise I'll be wasting my time. And yes, the character will be VERY out of character (evil) from how he was portrayed in the show. JanusForbeare
You should be fine, although if you start asking for donations, the situation could get a lot stickier. Because you're not planning on using the character's actual name, and because you'll be using original meshes/textures/voice files, this would probably fall under the umbrella of "fan art". It's worth mentioning that, if you portray the character in an extremely negative light, and your mod becomes popular, the J.H. Company could conceivably ask you to take it down. Sylantax
Thanks for the input! I will likely be asking for help at some point, if I get time to do it but what would I be asking for donations for? Oh well, at least it's good to know that I'm in the clear, although yeah, it will be in a very negative light. Meh. Even if I pull this off, there's no chance that it'll become popular enough for them to hear of it...
