luluco250
This is an idea I've had for a mod today, as I can't mod I think it's better to just post this here anyway. Here goes the plot (for now):This happens after you've completed the quest The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, in other words, when the greybeards give you the last word for Unrelenting Force and they scream at your ears until it bleeds. After that, when you go talk to Arngeir he will mention about an aprentice, one whom was being prepared and trained until the rising of a new dragonborn. Then he'll ask you to follow him to meet the aprentice. A new quest will start called "The Aprentice", yup. When the both the dragonborn and Arngeir reach a door, he'll will mention he'll call the aprentice. That's when thing get cool. You go to a character creation menu but instead of editing your own character, you get to edit the appearance of the aprentice itself. There you'll be able to edit everything, just like if you were creating your character, the player will even be able to give a name to the aprentice. That way Arngeir (and others) will call the aprentice as 'he' or 'she' and 'him' or 'her'. Upon finishing creating the aprentice Argeir will mention you two should talk and that the dragonborn is bound to be the master of the aprentice, "just like in the old tradition" and that "he/she is bound to your command and teachings until death". When you go talk to your aprentice (everybody will think: "I have an aprentice lol, I'll tell it to jump off a hill lol!"), it will tell you he/she has been trained and waited for your rising, and that it will assist you as you wish and follow your teachings, get this, as you teach. The rest is like in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, you teach it until it becomes a "professional" dragon slayer/assistant (that part I'm still unsure). Perhaps quests involving training your aprentice will be added as the main quest goes on and as time passes. When you finish training your aprentice you can free it from your bound. The technical part: You can marry your aprentice after a few 'aprentice quests' or so.I'm not sure yet about if the aprentice must be essential or not.Training must be realistic, just like leveling up. In fact, the aprentice will level up with your training.Your aprentice will stay with you all the time possible, you can however tell it to go home. If the dragonborn has no home or his home is too far away, it can send the aprentice to the nearest inn/tavern. This can be made even if the dragonborn's home is close.Voice acting is something complicated, but a few audio pros and some guys and girls will do. As there are 10 species and a male and female version of it making a total of 20 different voices needed for lots of speeches. A good voice acting for Arngeir would be good as it needs to ressemble him.The aprentice will behave just like a companion/mercenary except for some extra tasks and speech options.I'm thinking about choosing between a rebel or a loyal aprentice, maybe a speech option can change it when talking to Arngeir. Maybe the dragonborn can say for example: "I hope it's got a serious personality." or "There's no need for total loyalness.".The player can choose which will be the aprentice's role: if it whether must be a warrior, a mage or a thief-like; just like at the beginning of the game with the three stones. Perhaps a crossover role can be made like a battlemage or a shadowwarrior. At the end of the questline you can free the now-master aprentice from your bound, if yes, then you can find it again at High Hrothgar or randomly bumping with it on the road. That's it I guess...please give me your opinions about it! kingdark
This idea sounds pretty good though I don't have a clue how to do it; I'm keeping an eye on this idea though.
