Huiscc
Fallout 3 barely functions on any OS, let alone Windows 10. You have your work cut out for you.
Purr4me
Fallout 3 barely functions on any OS, let alone Windows 10. You have your work cut out for you.LOL, Fo3 ? runs on just about anything, 10 is not an issue if you know what to do, but, the source of the game and the method used to install it bares to mind. I can Guarantee any one I can get the game to run on any system smooth as silk. It's used as a measuring tool here for graphics. steam game? it will on windows 10 automatically install all the appropriate software required with 1 exception. GOG Galaxy game, same as above. The exception to this rule is Intel graphics chip-sets. For that, I have posted already about it. search Intel Bypass on Google, Go to the link on the nexus and read my posts. Test.your done. have fun. I'm sure your particular "solution" is the exception from the rest, of course. I've discovered from experience that the more patches and compatibility programs you download to get Fallout 3 working (which is practically impossible with the GOTY Steam version on Windows 10), then the more unstable and broken the game gets. Add mods on to that and you have yourself a game as fragile as glass.

If you install a bunch of mods, fix it's and all the things you have been led to believe fixes the game before even clearing out the systems issues with the game first? then there's no way in hell your going to get the game to run.#3. In yellow is your problem...just stop all that nonsense and pretend it's just a normal game, stop trying to fix what not even running yet. by your own admission is the problem. you need help? I can help, you need rebuttal? this is not the way to get that.

The fact is that the game, when installed as the GOTY edition on Steam on Windows 10, is unstable and I could clearly see this even before downloading the "recommended" third-party programs and making changes to the system. Most of the software installed initially is actually counter-productive to the experience and accounts for a very specific setup you're unlikely to have, especially when you have contradicting advice to get it functioning on Windows 10 in the first place. It's not a normal game, it was practically broken when I first installed it and with every single tweak and small change I make it becomes even more unreliable. If it doesn't immediately function perfectly when you install it then it is beyond redemption.

From all of this. I'm gathering there's a question Not being asked ? So ask it. never know, I might post the information here. But, Fo3, FNV. SKyrim, and most of the Other Bethesda games is based on their current distribution platforms. GOG galaxy does exactly the same procedures during install and setup as well, no differences in 3rd party installations. game requirement's all with the same exceptions. "windows 10--- is not the platform the game was designed to run on"I never denied this statement, in fact that shows that the version downloaded is broken and non-functioning. I have followed the typical supposedly correct procedure on how to get Fallout 3 functioning on the OS to the letter and still, I can see evidently that there are problems with the vanilla program that are a result of it being a Steam installation on Windows 10. Third-party programs and "tweaks" designed to fix the functionality on Windows 10 are dubious at best and often end up breaking another aspect of the game rather than alleviating any outstanding issue. Maybe it's working perfectly for you but even before I tried to mod the game it hasn't been for me.
