gendalv
the idea is to add in game legit, lore-friendly way to get crafting components from any(or at least from craftable) item, for example by processing item in workbench + maybe add a system so that the number of components that you get from disassembling increase (from 0 to all (or make maximum like 90%) of components used to craft that item) depending on how much items you have already disassembled+ maybe ability to disassemble non-craftable stuff like pots and other cookware (maybe as acquired (after some number of disassembled items) ability) Edited August 22, 2012 by gendalv
bscross32
Yeah, this would be cool. I'd like to be able to melt down weapons and armor that I loot from bodies and turn them into viable resources for crafting up what I want. It should be reasonable though, like if you melt down an iron sword, you would get say an iron shard or nugget or something and you would have to use two of them to make an iron ingot. you could get leather strips from disassembling the scabbard. larger weapons may yield an ingot and a full leather and so on. Maybe it's have a sub-tree of the smithing tree for this or maybe just one perk, but you start out and may only yield a scrap of molten metal that you can't use and only by trying more can you start to yield useful resources. and as your skill increases, you would be able to salvage more raw material from each thing you break down.
