A request or a quest mod

I'm working on a quest right now to find a magical set of armor but I might be willing to make a quest for your sword since I'm still on a sugar rush from quest planning. :)

 

The only problem is...it's excalibur and I don't have knights of the nine. :(

 

Would I need it to make the quest?

If you do I be grateful...also no you don't need KOTN to use this sword I've had it in my game well before I had KOTN. It would be a great quest item for KOTN however perhaps you could make it related to the nine divines lore so folks with or without KOTN can get a cool Nine Divines relic.

Ok then. :)

I needed to take a break from my current quest mod anyway.

I'll have to look up some stuff about the lore though since I know next to nothing about it. :blush:

It is Excalibur though, so it's going to end up being found in a lake at quests end. ;)

I started working on it. :)

It takes place in interior cells as to not mess with the vanilla areas.

The quest begins when you receive a vision (once you reach 20+ fame), a door appears under the talos bridge which leads to the new area. You are greeted by a servant of the nine who tells you you've been chosen to take on the trials of Excalibur for your heroic deeds. Once your done talking to him the door to the "hub" area opens up and your free to complete the nine trials - and that's where I'm at. :)

 

I have some ideas for a few trials.

 

 

Speed -> Follow a wisp down a path, get to far and you die.

Strength -> Fight three waves of various enemies.

Intelligence -> A maze with teleporters (who are also wisps.)

Endurance -> Survive the Green Knight for 5 minutes.

Agility -> Obstacle Course. (Jumping on blocks floating over lava)

Will-power -> ????

Luck -> Open several chests who will damage, Heal, or contain a key. (Purely Luck)

Personality -> Talk a person out of suicide. (If you fail you die)

Courage -> Boss Time.

I thought I should give you some updates for the quest so far.

 

Hero's Calling: The starting area, a small "cutscene" plays - (you can't move until he approaches you). This shot is from the opposite side of the entrance, you start on the opposite side of the "servant of the nine".

I went through three versions of this trial the first one had Goblins with "lives" where they would resurrect up to eight times to give the illusion there were many.

The next was a huge wave of enemies that would activate depending on a "score" variable but that got a bit out of control.

This one is a small island that must be cleansed of Daedra. Which I think makes more sense, as the nine don't seem like the sort to have trapped random animals in an arena for you to butcher.

I looked up more about the nine and decided to make the trials related to their role/worship. The trial of Strength is renamed to the Trial of Talos. The Trial of Perception is now Kynareth, and features foggy area where you can barely see - and death water - for her navigating relations. The trial of Mara (Love) is boring...you have to convince four "people" to like you with your speech skill...

I gotta ask by the way, are you sure the creator of Excalibur wouldn't mind us using it for the mod? I'm almost to the half-way point now, (I would be but I changed the Mana trial to an escort mission - save the hobo and stuff, so I'm still on trial 3 since I have to fine tune it.) and I haven't downloaded the Excalibur sword yet, but I might as well start programming it. :)
