instant CTD on startup

So I'm using vortex (first time) and i use LOOT with it to double check for any errors

now LOOT says there is 0 errors and has 0 warnings for me and i sorted the load order many times, however i still crash almost instantly when i boot the game up (i dont even see the skyrim emblem)

this sort of thing happened a while back when i used MO2 so i have no idea and am pretty stumped.

EDIT: I also cleaned the DLCs and a few dirty mods

I also tried reinstalling skyrim to program files instead of program files x86 just in case, I've also tried to disable all the mods and it still crashes??

 

EDIT 2: so i went and disabled each mod, one at a time and apparently the culprit was "simply knock" dunno if i misread something that may have warned about this happening but nonetheless victory!

CTD at startup is generally the result of one of two things in Skyrim Special Edition:

 

1. You are missing a master for the plugin. Check to make sure all the masters are installed and enabled.

2. The mod was ported incorrectly.

 

If you look at the mod page in posts for "Simply Knock SE" found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14098/?tab=posts you'll find that one of the first comments is an issue with CTD on startup with a link for a patch to fix this, here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/24297, which I'm guessing you haven't seen. The first step for troubleshooting any mod is to look at the description page and the comments for others with the issue and possible fixes. It usually solves your issue without having to wait for an answer in forums.

so typically to diagnose the problematic mod requires you to disable half start up if it crashes disable the other half if it doesnt crash then the problematic mod is in that half reanable all in that half go through that half one by one until you find the problematic mod however i did that and it still ctd on start up

 

Edit: turns out a game file was messed up somehow so i guess add that to the list verifying integrity of game files on steam fixed it without messing up my mods
