Raphi1802
Hey all, So after the support for NMM was discontinued, i switched over to vortex and used to import tool to bring all my mods with it. After all that was done, I removed NMM and the mods folder that was used by it and ran Fallout 4 like normal. But it keeps CTD all the time. I tried updating all out of date mods and tried again, but still CTD I then disabled all the mods to see it will still load and activate the mods one by one to find the issue. But, what was weird is that all my mods managed to load, even though they are disabled on Vortex. All the plugins are still on if that helps. Wondering if someone can help me out with this, i updated some mods as mentioned before, but, it looks like its still running on NMM configuration if that makes sense? Guest deleted34304850
support for nmm went away 2 years ago, but its still supported on github and you can download the latest from there. this is discussed all over the place and isn't new.if you transitioned from nmm to vortex, i assume that you disabled your mods in nmm, then deleted them from nmm before uninstalling it. did you do that?if you didn't, then you're going to feel a bit of pain.the best thing to do is this; 1. delete or empty your data folder in your fallout 4 directory.2. allow steam to validate local files and update any it needs to. now you're basically at a fresh install of fallout 4 with no mods. you should have a download directory that NMM used to store mods you downloaded.open vortex, set it up with your game directory and your staging folder and whatever. these are the values i have in my local vortex;1. my mod directory is set to D:\{GAME}\mods which translates to d:\fallout4\mods\2. my deployment method is hardlink deployment3. my downloads folder is D:\games\Downloads4. my search paths for games is c:\ and d:\ set yours up according to your own values 5. go to vortex and select the mods tab. at the top you will see 'install from file'. click that, navigate to your mod archive folder, click one - vortex will install it - make sure you select the archive file, zip, 7z, rar not esp/esm/ba2/whatever.6. once its installed enable it in vortex.7. deploy8. start your game - see if it detects the mod is loaded. sounds complex - it really isn't.
