WoogieMonster
Sorry for the low quality pics, but here are two of mine: Flag logo from Tactical Intelligence school http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/WoogieMonster/Picture5-1.jpg Gothic Cross (drawn freehand with needle by a Japanese artist) http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/WoogieMonster/Picture4-1.jpg I have an extremely high pain threshold so I honestly can not remember if my navy tattoo hurt, but I am certain it did not tickle. My cross hurt so bad that my arm actually went numb. The artist said my skin "is not right for ink art" which I quickly interpreted as "to make this work correctly I'm going to carve you like a boonie pig." gandalftw
@MichloMy first was my nick-name (Michlo) on my neck. Yup, pretty silly but I was influenced by the "home boys" I had come to know from the Mexican family I was helping out since being here in Los Angeles. Anyway, he did this whole curly lettering and I was sitting there thinking "well this isn't bad at all". My mate who has tattoos everywhere was watching me closely and was rather pissed off that I wasn't showing any emotion. Then the tattooist asked if he should draw a line underneath to finish it off. I thought "sure, why not?". He started the line, a bit lower than the letters I suppose and inside I was screaming something akin to "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL!??!!!!". It hurt like I couldn't believe. hehe. I still didn't show it, much to my mate's annoyance but anyway, where was I? oh, brain fart. :whistling: When my dad took me to get mine there was a fellow in his twenties getting a panther done on his left forearm. He was reading a magazine so i thought,no big deal. When my turn came i picked up a comic book and set back while the artist adjusted his gun. When he started mine the comic book went flying. He stopped and asked, hurt?.I said nah as if i meant to throw the comic across the room. When he finally finished my dad slapped me on the back and handed me five bucks. That was a lot in 1964,movies cost a quarter, comics five cents. My dad owned a bar across the street so he went back to work and i headed to the nearest penny arcade,i was a gamer back then too.In the"BC" before computers,I loved pinball...Btw my tat cost my dad three dollars... @WoogieMonsterI bet that cross did hurt that's huge. The ones that hurt me the most were on my fingers and my inner wrist. Michlo
@Woogie Nice tats there, mate and thanks to you AND Gandalf for not being afraid to admit that they don't tickle. ;) Until I can take some better ones (now that I finally have a digital camera I suppose I ought to actually use it...) here are some old but not so great pics: The aztec calendar and eagle Name on my neck My British one plus a small view of the tribute to my Nan Hmm, I don't even shave my head anymore so these ARE pretty old. hehe Cheers. Blacksnake89
I have a friend from college that does tattoo concepts. He did a back tattoo for me that's a large black cobra with my tribe's symbol on the front of it's hood. I'll post a picture if I can get my scanner running. Mavrosh
Hmmm... for sure the image itself must have a meaning to you. It might happen that in 20 years from now you do not like tattoos any more but then you can still say "But the meaning of it is important!" And do yourself a favozur, depending on the place where you get it - do not make it too small! the bigger the more details are possible. another reason is that you might think about getting another one later and then you might regret that you for example wasted the back area for a tiny piece on your left shoulder but now you have this great idea for a image which would cover the whole back but you cannot do it any more because there is his small one already... you know what I mean? hard to explain. just believe me that I know, what I am talking about...
Aeryn333
When I got my tat, I designed it, drew it brought it in, and said thats what I want.. I did what they tell you not to do, have a pint of Murphys before hand..lolololOk I am Irish maybe two!!!! Me I didn't feel a bloody thing..lollolol :whistling: Nice tats brother...!!! You too Woogie.. But I love my Tat for it has meaning, its represenative of who I am as a person, and my heritage..I have a whole journey written in one Tat....la So my advice make it have meaning for you..for you will look at it the rest of your life, I still look at mine with pride of I designed them..to tell a soul story of me!!!
