daiena
Never bothered to read these forums, even more write something, but today i had something of an eye opener.I have played in total around 5 different characters, nearly all of them got past lvl 40 within couple of days, and then got savagely deleted as i started to find the world boring, and figured that it must have something to do with my character build,i mean i finished as many quests as i could, killed off them pesky dragons wherever i came to find them, and yet within few days i got bored of every single character, and the best part,it was all on expert level. Note that i am not using any uber mods of pwnage XP boost or in short any sort of mod that makes the game easier,in fact i am using quite few immersion mods that make the game quite tricky at times, and yet for some reason i found my self bored to death with every single character. As i discovered few days ago,the problem was that i was playing it too much like an RPG,plan your routes, don't take any detours, get from point A to point B in as straight and fast line as you can.Basically i forgot all about exploring and immersing my self in to the game, and went berserk on simple questing, and killing, which apparently this game is not about. As soon as i forgot all about fast travel, horses and all that stuff,i noticed that i level a lot slower,i am not completing as many quests in as short of a period of time as i used to,and yet i had and still am having a hell of a lot more fun than i did before. Don't ruin you experience by rushing, take the time and explore,if you see something that got your attention,go see what it is,the quest near by wont disappear or run away.It might seem like a waste of time, but trust me Bethesda has put a lot of attention to the world and small yet fun parts in it,if they would put half as much effort in proper texture quality and AI,we would have a game that would be spoken about for decades.I mean i am playing Skyrim ever since it got released on PC,and only today i found out that there is a watchtower right behind the Whiterun, and a huge dead crab in tundra O.o The thing is,mods don't make the game more interesting, they are just a cherry on top of whatever you take the game for.And from my own experience,if you take it for just another RPG,no mod around will force you to see for what the game really is about. P.S. sorry about the choppy English,it's not my native tongue.
69mAnU96
That's what I like about TES (I started with Morrowind): it's the freedom.Freedom of playing the way you want, freedom of adding the mods you want (thanks modders ;-)True, they are some limitations as you mentionned. But you are free.Rare enough to be appreciated.
