WoogieMonster
First, you should really know what your operating system is.-If you are using the latest version of OBSE then you also need to update Oblivion game to the latest version.-With Vista, a lot of issues seem to be corrected by not installing the game to the default Program Files location. asaffin
Oblivion was designed for Windows XP, so issues with Vista are inevitable. For example, I had the exact same copy of Vista installed on both hard drives in my computer (the duplicate activation key was courtesy of Microsoft :P), and Oblivion installed fine on both, but it only ran on one of the drives (unfortunately, the slower one, which made the game run like crap :wallbash: ). Go figure. Anyway, first, make sure the OBSE launcher is in the same location as your game directory: by default *:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. That's the most important thing. Next, make sure you are on an administrative account. Vista is like a Nazi when it comes to security issues, and will not let you modify anything in the Program Files directory (even though it will APPEAR as though things have been modified) unless you are an administrator and give persmission about 73 times. Also, make sure any CD-cloning or emulation software (such as Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, or CloneCD) is turned COMPLETELY off, as Oblivion's SecuROM system really hates those. That's all I can think of for the moment. I hope you can get this to work. It'd be a shame if you had to miss out on Oblivion :D
