KahvozeinsFang
Do they work in exterior cells? I've gotten them to work in interiors, but it seems like whenever I hook one up in an exterior they don't block the light from the area I want blocked. speedynl
they should work, i made 1 time a lil house somewhere, and placed a box around the house, light stay inside the box(house), remember don't forget to link all lights to the box, that should stay inside the box dropping a box just somewhere don't work Edited May 23, 2019 by speedynl
MissingMeshTV
They work perfectly fine in exteriors if set up correctly. Remember to make each light source you want contained by the light box a linked ref with the LightBoxLink keyword.
KahvozeinsFang
I used the light box button in the CK to set them up. I've even done it manually and they still are not working in exterior cells. I'm starting to wonder if I have a bad install on the CK.
MissingMeshTV
Are you using spotlights by any chance? Not sure why, but I've never been able to get them to be confined by lightboxes in any setting now that I think about it. Other than that, not sure what you've got going on. KahvozeinsFang
Nope just regular lights. But the ones I used cast shadows. I think maybe that's why they aren't working. In my Reeb Marina Settlement I used a shadow casting light in the kitchen area and the bathrooms have light spilling into them from that light. I tried the lightbox and light still leaks in through the wall. I ended up just removing the light though. I'll have to do some more testing I guess. KahvozeinsFang
Same thing happened with my Roadside Pines settlement. Light from the outside of the rooms spills in through the walls and light boxes don't stop it there either.
speedynl
for a inside room, box should be inside the walls, if you make them the same size as the walls light will go true if you have any light on the outside , the outside box should stop before any wall/room if i remember right, you should pick a light(inside or outside) before you place the box, i never had any problem with normal light sources lil tip look at any vanilla light box how beth set it up, vanilla is always a good source if you wana know something, and or don't know how it exact works
