phellen Posted August 25, 2012 Share Posted August 25, 2012 I like the horses in Skyrim, especially now since there is the ability to wield weapons while mounted, however they don't seem like they are entirely necessary or as immersive as they could be. I mean, why own a horse when you can simply click a button and fast travel to wherever you want. One way to make owning a horse much more valuable and necessary would be to have fast travel disabled unless the player is mounted on his/her horse. This would give players a much greater incentive for wanting to buy or steal a horse. It would also have greater consequences for the player when the horse is killed in combat, as they would then have to walk back to the nearest stable to buy a new one, or pay to ride on the carriage.
