hulege
Hello I was just starting a new game ( haven't played in a while), removing some mods I didn't need. Everything worked fine untill I got out of the sewers. I went over to Vilverin (closest location on map) to test that the game didn't crash when in combat/entering and exiting places/. Went perfectly ok. I killed some bandits. After killing a mudcrab the game crashed and when I try to load any of the games saved: (autosave after sewers), (saved game at vilverin door) or (quicksave before sniping bandits). Problem is, I can't load any of these files. While loading the game just crashes and exits due to an unknown reason.. The files are not corrupted, and all meshes and textures are in place. Removing all mods does nothing to help, and I have the latest version of OBSE and the mod manager. It doesn't work using the original oblivion without mods either. I have SI and knights of the nine installed and the game works fine playing an old save file of mine (I never had any mods on this). I tried to make it work, but it doesn't  :wallbash: Please I need help  edit: It also crashed upon some basic actions like picking up stuff and trying to enter places.. hulege
My save game isn't corrupt.. but I'll try it! Edit: wierdest thing.. following his advice didn't really help me, but deleting the quick and autosave.bat made my game run perfectly! Thanks for the help! catmagnet
IMHO autosave is broken anyway, better turn that off when using mods. For me it often enough caused more problems and lost time than I'd have wasted by going back to a 'regular' save. My policy now is to save only using the console and assigning recognizable names... I needed to get into the habit, but it was totally worth it. Added benefit: From a role-playing perspective it's nice to have saves resembling a diary. Next time I become a daedric prince I'll show them to the others... Ey, Molag-pal, this was me at the age of twentytwo, beating up your worshipers. How about you? Got some childhood-pigs err pics? :D
Shadowcran
I'm going to second catmagnet's suggestion. Autosaves get corrupted easily, as well as quicksaves sometimes. The best is to use manual saves only OR download Streamline 3.0(NOT 3.1, it is too buggy and will permanently be in beta due to modder of it quitting modding) Streamline saves don't corrupt as often. You use f10 to activate it's save function. It also smoothes out cells. But be prepared to deactivate it every few days and then reactivate it. It gets buggy for some reason. catmagnet
download Streamline 3.0(NOT 3.1, it is too buggy and will permanently be in beta due to modder of it quitting modding) Now that explains some things... Thanks for the info, downgrading right now. Too bad that is discontinued, really helps to keep FPS on my mediocre computer at decent levels.
