DarkSaber2328
So I made a armor for Skyrim but when I put it on a female it flashes for a second on the person and crashes the game. Why is this happening? How do I fix it? PS: i'm very new to armor modding so please help me.
frankdema
probably a problem with the dismember skin istance, control that all the pieces of the armor are pareneted to only one skeleton and that there is no loop in the order of the bones, that worked for one of my armors, i had the same issue. however mine was a mash up armor so i'm not sure why this is happening to you if the armor is completely modelled from scratch.... DarkSaber2328
my armor is a remodel of the female imperial armor. I followed some tutorial for a helmet and it worked but the helmet was floating above my guys head and was purple and also had a triangle going across the screen. :wallbash:
frankdema
the triangle with the ! sign in it means that the nif is not compatible with the engine of the game, try to change the user version 1 and 2 in the nif header: they must be 12 and 83. regarding the purple textures, it must be a problem of the lighting shader property, try to reassign the textures and save the nif file, other than that you may be missing some uv mapping but i doubt it. ps floating around on the character's head means that it did not follow the head of the character in the movements but only in the space? if it is like that than it is a problem of shaders: make sure that the skinned mesh shader in the bslighting shader property is checked. Stemin
If you're using 3ds max, the .nif exporter has issues. This should help: I _think_ that's the right video. If not, check his channel. Two things come to mind. Either there's a problem with the .nif export (which is covered in the video) or you had an issue with the weight slider, but helmets supposedly don't have weight sliders. I say supposedly because I've found a lot of the stock .nif's do indeed have a _0 and a _1. Edited August 27, 2012 by Stemin
DarkSaber2328
I figured it out I needed the newer version of the nifscripts for 3ds max. lol its so easy now. PS: Just want to thank the nexus community for helping me out so much. Thanks Guys.
