Broken Landscapes

I've found a couple tears in the world. I've got all the Unique Landscapes installed, so I'm guesing maybe these are caused by other mods conflicting with UL?

 

The first one is due north of the Arcane Academy. Not sure if there's a UL covering this area, and I can't think of any other mod that would be affecting this area. Could it be Oonas causing this?

Here's a couple more shots of that second conflict.

 

Any ideas of what's causing these conflicts? I can probably fix the second one by uninstalling Great Oak Manor (which would be a shame because it's cool).

 

No idea what to do to fix the first one, though.

Look for compatibility patches in those mods. If you can't find any, trash UL or the mod that causes the conflict.

 

 

Play around with your load orders, too. I don't use those landscape mods specifically because they wreak havok with so many other mods.

Okay, if anyone's interested I think I figured this out.

 

The first one, I think, is just a bug in the Unique Landscapes - Imperial Isle mod. Turning it off removed the tear, and I'm pretty sure I don't have any other mods that change that part of the landscape. I'm going to leave it on since the tear is pretty minor, only visible from a few places, and the rest of the mod is beautiful.

 

The second one was fixed entirely by moving the Great Oak Manor mod down to the bottom of my mod list. Thanks for the suggestion, myrmaad!

Also you have Streamline 2.1, get 3.1 instead.

 

WARNING, Streamline 3.1 can cause your game to become VERY unstable and based upon a lengthy discussion a few weeks ago in this forum, Streamline 3.0 is more stable and works better. Personally Streamline 3.1 caused my game to CTD about every 5-15min, once it was removed my CTDs went down to about 1 every 1-2hrs.

Your screenshots make it fairly clear where the conflict is with UL Imperial Isle. Move Oona's Outfitters up above the UL ESP to fix the land tear.

You either need to get and use FCOMHelper, or else you've created this load order using FCOMHelper, but haven't followed the instructions to manually reposition all the UNKNOWN ESPs.

 

Thank you. That fixed it. I thought Oona's was too far away to be causing the conflict, but I guess it is the same cell or something.

 

I did use FCOMHelper when I first installed FCOM, but I'd added a bunch of mods since then and hadn't run it again.

 

I ran it again, and I notice it didn't put the Bashed Patch down below the mods you listed. Is there anything that needs to go after the Bashed Patch, or should I just put it at the very bottom?

 

Sorry to be so ignorant. I know the answer to this is probably in the Wyre Bash instructions, which I have tried to read, but they seem to assume a lot of knowledge about Oblivion modding that I don't have. I don't even really understand what the Bashed Patch is. I just used a step-by-step cookbook to install the FCOM mods.

 

Also you have Streamline 2.1, get 3.1 instead.

I was waiting for it to be no longer listed as a beta. Is there some urgent bug-fix for 2.1? I've been using it and haven't had much stuttering beyond the initial hiccups when arriving in a new area. And I get very few CTDs. I often get them when I quit (I need to get into the QQQ habit), which seems pretty harmless, but hardly ever any other time.

 

Thanks again for the help! I don't suppose you see anything in my mod list that might be causing the problem with the disappearing Imperial Commerce office I posted about in this thread?

Download the latest database for FCOMHelper then run it again. When it's finished, it opens a text file showing the load order. At the end of the text file will be a batch under the label "Unrecognised mod files (reorder by hand):" and every ESP beneath this line needs you to manually place it in your load order, as it is not yet included in the FCOMHelper database.

 

CTDs on exit are mostly due to one mod referencing an object that another mod deleted higher up your load order. These crashes are harmless in my opinion, though any changes you make to your game settings won't be saved due to the crash. There's a console command which can be used to save the settings before exiting.

 

Streamline 3.1 has always been stable for me. It's probably just one of those mods where it works perfectly for some, but not at all for others. It does of course help to first read the readme and the setup instructions to ensure that it is configured correctly :) If you're happy with 2.1 then stick with it by all means, but 3.1 has some much more sophisticated features.
