File Association Silliness and a Fix

If you are like me and had the file association bug, and following the supposed guidance on the video and FAQ was a complete waste of time, this might help.

 

Problem:

 

=> After installing Vortex, attempting to download a mod took you to the Microsoft app toilet.

 

Their recommended solution:

 

=> "Use the applet to make the file association!" Except there was no applet.

=> "Select 'Handle Mod Manager Download' on Settings => Downloads." Except that it was selected already.

 

Actual solution:

 

=> Uncheck "Handle Mod Manager Download" on Settings => Downloads

=> Exit program and restart

=> Recheck "Handle Mod Manager Download" on Settings => Downloads

 

Voila.
