xenovie
Hi, Wow. So FCOM convergence looks really complete. But after I added a couple more stuffs, I end up with like... weird... missing meshes and textures. I don't know. So I thought maybe I did something wrong. I definitely did something wrong. Anyway, I was just wondering. What add-ons besides the 'add-ons' mentioned in FCOM convergence do you guys recommend to use? Should I still use the environment-beautifier mods? The better bodies, beautiful people pack stuffs? Sound? Companions? New lands? Should I still use Harvest Flora, or is it already included? Or would they conflict? Right now... I could only be certain I could add stuffs like, Deadly Reflex, and quests. I guess, all I'm after is, after FCOM convergence, what are the rest of the essential mods left to get the best experience out of this game up to date? catmagnet
I'm a big fan of bg2408's Race Balancing Project and LAME (Less Annoying Magic Experience), both run with FCOM without any problems for me. But of course that's also a lot about personal taste, but for me those two are the icing on the cake when it comes to balancing and for MY taste they match FCOM very well. As good as BP looks, but I dropped it, because that mod's got real issues, see wrye bash documentation for details - too much of a trouble maker to be worth it IMHO. I can't see how landscape stuff could really interfere with FCOM. Anyway, I'd always take a look here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=798556 before installing. xenovie
Do you use environmental beautifier mods? Do you mind to share the mods you use? There're a lot of mods out there... and I've heard a lot concerning water, weather and lights that can be conflicting... what with reallights and lightsout or what not... Maybe I can resort to some sort of 'standard' recommended mods.
catmagnet
Just Enhanced Weather, if that even falls into that category. Quarls Redemized (sp?) and the only other thing that really tampers with landscape is Kvatch Rebuild. So not a big help there. Anyway, I'd stick to the list of known incompatibilities, many people run a lot of beautifiers, I'd guess if there are issues they'll be discovered by now. I have to make choices here, comp is mediocre by todays standards. You may want to take a look at FCOM Helper http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16375, really helpful little tool, especially as it also suggest tags for wrye bash. Mod List would be rather pointless atm as I messed up something else badly and what use will the broken thing be to you? Anyway, the only issue with beautifiers I know of is with parts of Unique Landscapes, but that's solvable by load order and two patches for The Heath and err, don't recall. Follow the link above and from there to the wiki, it's all explained there.
xenovie
Oh I didn't know the f_order has comments on them. Awesome. That's what I was looking for actually.
catmagnet
It's not canonical, but I guess that's not even achievable, near to impossible to catch each and every interdependency. Anyway, it's a good start and the mods it doesn't recognize are usually quite easy to fit in if you follow dev_akm's guidelines. Oh... and don't be as stupid as I've been on my first trials, don't forget to hit save when you change tags in wrye bash. :lol
