Vagrant0
Oh, true, I think I get how it works now. This is a better explanation of what I'm trying to get. It seems that Oblivion can generate this effect, beacuse the water follows it pretty acuralty.Yes, that sort of effect is possible, but you first need to have a working weapon model and a texture which does not have that sort of lightspot built in. For this you should probably look at the post I made earlier in this thread since it describes essentially what you have to do to get these things. This shiny quality can be worked out later, once you have a working item. However, no matter what, it will not look exactly the same. There are only 2 kinds of shinyness which you can have on weapons, there is normal shine, like what some of the more metalic items in game show, and then there is environment maps, which is what glass items show. You should probably look at how light effects both steel, silver, and glass items to decide what sort of shinyness you want. All of these can be achieved and adjusted at a later date, the actual model and model texture needs to be done first, and finalized first.
paintballmaster254
Thanks for the reply, if I use an enviornment map, it won't neccisarily make it transparent will it? Also there is part of the texture I want transparent, can I do this on one texture? (For the gems on the hilt)
