Tolmjir
Thanks for taking your time to look at this. I just downloaded a mod that needed OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) to run. I downloaded it and tried to run it but a command prompt box pops up saying "You are using the 1.2.0.201 version of Oblivion installed by Shivering Isles, please upgrade to 1.2.0.416." Can this be solved by downloading the Shivering Isles patch?

Tolmjir
By the way, should I get the official or unnofficial patch?
Varus Torvyn
By the way, should I get the official or unnofficial patch?"1.2.0416" refers to the Official Bethesda Patch. It is required if you want both OBSE & the Unofficial Patches to function correctly. OBSE will unzip into its own folder under \Oblivion\Data, so you'll need to move some files out of the 0015a folder per the OBSE Readme, and you will need to create a \OBSE\Plugins folder within \Oblivion\Data. That Plugins folder is for any OBSE mods that are DLL files. Follow this excerpt from the OBSE Readme and OBSE should function fine: [ Installation ] 1. Copy obse_1_1.dll, obse_1_2.dll, obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_0.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_loader.exe to your Oblivion directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder, and should contain files called "Oblivion.exe" and "OblivionLauncher.exe".2. Run oblivion by running obse_loader.exe from the Oblivion directory. If you use a desktop shortcut to launch Oblivion normally, just update the shortcut to point to obse_loader.exe instead of oblivion.exe.
Tolmjir
Ah, this is almost just what I needed to hear. I just need to know if it's just a general official patch or a "Shivering Isles" patch?
Tolmjir
official patch downloaded successfully but now I have a different problem. The OBSE loader starts correctly, but when I get to the mod that I needed it for (in game), the items are purple and an npc's body (other than his head) is nonexistant. How do I fix this? By the way, this is the thieve's arsenal mod from the TESNexus site.
