KeiranGinge1
How would I go about making a flat texture map type thing for this crossbow:
David Brasher
It sort of looks to me like it is already textured. Why don't you just copy the existing texture and then edit it as much as you like until it looks the way you want it?
KeiranGinge1
this texture is done by separating the weapon into pieces (e.g. main body) and only allowing one colour all over... due to the lack of a texture layout/map 2D thingy
Tzontlimixtli
this texture is done by separating the weapon into pieces (e.g. main body) and only allowing one colour all over... due to the lack of a texture layout/map 2D thingy That would be done by connecting the pieces and then applying the Unwrap UVW Map modifier to it. A good way to separate the different sections in the UVW map is to select them by element, so you can flatten them individually based on their shapes. KeiranGinge1
umm could you give me a step by step on how to do that please? :L
steve40
You could try loading the model in Nifskope, right-click the model then click "texture" then "export UV map" (if I remember correctly). This lets you save a UV template as a TGA file. You can then load in Gimp or Photoshop, paint it, then save/export it as a dds file.
