AnubisRaven
Ok. Let's face it. The vanilla Daedric quests are mostly boring. Peryite's honestly feels like a glorified fetch-quest. Horrid. I'd love to see someone design a much more interesting peryite quest to make up for the one we got. Perhaps one that travels to his realm (as little is known about it)
Cthuloot
I think a lot of quests in Skyrim are a little bland... With the exception of a few, a lot of the game is fetch quests. Especially if you rely on the radiant quests (Which is udnerstandable to a point) While I've not done ALL of the Deadric quests, I have done a few of them, and they did seem a little lacking. I remember one of the quests from Morrowind required you to find a guy to rebuild a Deadric Temple, which was kind of interesting. Is this request referring specifically to Peryite's quest, or all the Deadric quests in general? I think that A Night To Remember was kind of interesting and a a little comical at times. Azura's quest was a little lacking though. However specifically talking about Peryite, I did have a few gripes about it. For example, I was attacked on site by these people who had no clue who the hell I was. However, when I happened upon an afflicted in the wild, he was pretty courteous and let me know where he was heading and why. That didn't add up to me. While sneaking around in the Dwemer ruins I happened upon a sister speaking to her sleeping brother. It seemed pretty apparent that she didn't want to be there. I tried to approach nice and friendly like to see if I had the option of sneaking her out, of course, this wasn't an option and I was again attacked on sight. Peryite also sent me to go kill Orthandor (That was the bugger's name right?) but she said nothing about the rest of them. Had they not all attacked me on sight, I might have even felt bad for these guys. I would have enjoyed being able to come and heal them perhaps, or even ask Peryite for her "blessing" so I could also become afflicted and walk around unhindered by the vomiting masses. Merinda (the Deadric God that gives you Dawnbreaker) had a similar sort of empty feel. The corrupted shades and the weird shadows where all very cool and the concept of guiding her light through the temple was also loads of fun, but for some reason, I felt like I was over-rewarded for running around burning some ghosts and knifing a crazy elf. While I don't expect these changes to be amazing and have a full set of side quests just to get these artifacts, I feel like pissing around with Deadric Gods should be a little more memorable. I have to disagree however with sending you into these god's domains, as the Deadric gods are pretty known to be putzing around in mortal affairs. With a game like Skyrim however, you're limited to what you can really do to 'diversify' and make these quests unique. You've got limited options... You can...- Kill some dudes- Find something- Complete some sort of puzzle- Talk to some guy- Stealth in and steal something That's really all there is you can do as a player if you think about it. Even in the main quest, everything was brought down to one of those five steps, and everything else that happened was a result of you doing one of the five, or a combination of them (Reforming the blades = Talk to some guy, kill some dudes, talk to another guy / Retrieving Dawnbreaker = Kill some dudes, solve a 'puzzle') What you're asking for probably wouldn't make these quest much more unique or rewarding, just longer really. However... Opening more options to complete them, and maybe changing the rewards based on how you do them... There's a concept... Maybe if you ask Peryite for his blessing, you are strengthened by contracting diseases and gain that oh so powerful vomit ability. Maybe if you're a vampire while completing Merida's quest you can ask for "Forgiveness from the sun" and no longer be weakened by it. Perhaps Sheograth could give you an ability called "Sheograth's Smile" that causes people in the vicinity of your player to either frenzy, calm, or fear randomly. Those sorts of things would make the quests a little more interesting and fun.
