moonlightbaaae
A crossbow seems like a very interesting weapon in New Vegas. I like the sound of it. Although, I'll find it difficult for a crossbow to compete against the high-powered military-grade weapons in my game in addition to the modern armor the NPCs wear. This versus this. But whatever, I'll find a way past that, looking forward to this. Edited August 29, 2012 by KSI Carbon Core
Ladez
Sounds really good. Have been using a crossbow mod before, but wasn't too satisfied with it.
Kodiak412
Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of things for this, since you asked for suggestions. :) I used the fantastic crossbow mod that used to be here. It was really great. At first I did not think that a scope would be good for it, but I ended up loving that weapon with the scope. Silent death from afar. Not that that is anything new, but it was a great deal of fun. It also had a fatigue bolt. I think it did about 2000 fatigue. You would knock out a group of fiends from a far and then had about a minute or two to ransack their camp. Even loot their unconscious bodies with the right mod. Get out after you stole their stuff and watch them wake up from a safe distance. Added another "nonlethal" way to play the game. Good luck with the project and I can't wait to see the final outcome. Deleted2547005User
I'm wondering if we can do a super heated metal rod as an ammo type. Couple that with a scope and you can pin people to a wall with some hot metal. Half-Life 2 fans will know what I'm on about.
Deleted3761571User
@KuroitsuneAs the heated cosmic knife from Dead Money?
Deleted2547005User
Similar yes. When I was thinking about the Ammo I thought of Half-Life 2 and then the ammo for the crossbow in Half Life 2. It was a superheated rod. Since there is Super heated knifes and power fists in the game it wasn't a big stretch. We could use the textures from the steel mill equipment in the base game to keep the mod independent. We could simply just use it to make the arrow superheated, or go the full rod route. Edited August 29, 2012 by Kuroitsune
Deleted3761571User
A recipe for this is not a problem. Hotplate + 10 arrows = 10 super heated arrows But where do you want to assign the textures?
Deleted2547005User
The Arrow's point. If the mesh is one entire node I can use blender to create a special model that has the point on another node so we can change its textures without messing up the rest of the arrow.
